Linux Asia Conference &
Expo Media Registration Guidelines
Step 1: Complete
the registration form.
Step 2: To complete
your registration, please submit the credentials listed
in the category that applies to you.
To ensure that your credentials are
current, we require that you submit your current press
identification. Media registration attendee lists do
not carry over from show to show. Linux Asia reserves the
right to refuse media badges upon review of credentials
and Web sites during the pre-registration and on-site
media registration periods.
Print Media
- A copy of your business card with name, editorial
title, and media outlet's logo
- A copy of a current masthead, which clearly displays
your name and industry-related editorial title
- A bylined industry-related article written by you
within the last 6 months
Online Media
- A copy of your business card with name, editorial
title, and media outlet's logo
- A copy of your online publication's home page and
the masthead page with your name and title appearing in
an editorial capacity
- A bylined industry-related article written by you
within the last 6 months
Please note that online media must
meet all criteria below:
- The Web site must have a paid reporting staff of two or more
- The Web site must post original, dated,
industry-related news at least once per week
- Web site content must extend beyond links, forums,
personal diaries, opinion or personal analysis
Freelance Writers
- A letter (on letterhead) from a publisher,
editor-in-chief or managing editor indicating that you
are covering Macworld Conference & Expo for their
publication, as well as the section of the publication
to which you are contributing
- A bylined industry-related article written by you
within the last 6 months
Staff Photographers
- A copy of your business card with name, title and media outlet's logo
- An example of your work in an industry-related
publication (e.g., a photo attributed to you)
Freelance Photographers and
Photo Agencies
- A letter (on letterhead) from an editor or assignment
manager at an industry-related publication indicating that
you are photographing the tradeshow for that publication
- An example of your work in an industry-related
publication (e.g., a photo attributed to you)
Broadcast Teams
- A copy of your business card with name, editorial
title, and media outlet's logo
- A letter from a producer (on letterhead) indicating
that you are covering the tradeshow for that broadcast
outlet
Please note that each member of the
crew needs to register separately. Broadcast programs
not affiliated with a major network or national cable
news station are also required to provide a published
listing of the show's market(s) and airing schedule.
Industry Analysts
- A copy of your business card with name, title and
analyst firm's logo
- A copy of a relevant research report or brief
published within the past 15 months that clearly displays
your authorship
Book Authors
Please provide a letter (on letterhead)
from a publisher or editor indicating that you are
covering Linux Asia Conference & Expo on assignment for
an upcoming book-in-progress. Authors of books that have
already been published will not qualify as media unless
working on a current book and can provide such a letter.
User Group Media
- A printout of the user group's newsletter or Web
site page that displays your name in an editorial capacity
- A bylined industry-related article written by you
within the last 6 months
Please note that only editors
of user group newsletters are eligible for media
badges. Unfortunately, writers for user group newsletters
cannot be registered as media.
The following groups are not eligible for media badges:
- Production companies
- Graphic design firms
- Marketing, advertising and public relations professionals
Once we receive your credentials,
please allow up to two weeks for an e-mail indicating
your registration status.
FAQ
Media Registration
- [Q] I am a member of the
media. How do I register and what credentials do I
need?
[A] Media registration will
be available in November. At that time, you'll be able
to apply online for media credentials by completing the
media registration form. In order for the application to
be processed, you will need to submit your credentials
for verification.
- [Q] I completed the registration
form online, but I received an email telling me
that my registration is not complete. What else
do I need to do?
[A] You must
submit media credentials to verify that you are a
member of the media. The credentials that you need to
send vary depending on the type of media outlet you
represent. Please see the media registration page for
information on the credentials required.
- [Q] I have missed the advanced
media registration deadline. Can I register
on-site?
[A] Once the advanced media
registration deadline has passed, you can only register
on-site at the India Habitat Center. Don't forget to
bring your credentials!

On-site Media Services
- [Q] What is the location
and hours of operation of the on-site Media
Center?
[A] The Linux Asia Media Center
is located in Business Center, Ground Floor at the India
Habitat Centre. Its hours of operation are as follows:
- Wednesday, February 11, 2004 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
- Thursday, February 12, 2004 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
- Friday, February 13, 2004 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
- [Q] Are there computers available
for media at the show? Will I be able to connect to the
Internet with my laptop?
[A] Yes,
the Media Center will be equipped with a limited number
of PC computers, as well as internet connections.
- [Q] Are there phone lines available
in the Media Center?
[A] Yes, there
are a limited number of phone lines available for media
use. Note that these lines are restricted, meaning that
all calls must be local.
- [Q] Does media have its
own section in the keynote? Where do I line
up?
[A] Yes, there will be an area
reserved especially for media in the keynote hall. You
will be directed to the appropriate area when you
arrive on-site.
- [Q] Where is the exhibitor press
conference room located?
[A] The
exhibitor press conference room is located in Business
Center, Ground Floor at the India Habitat Centre. A
complete schedule of exhibitor press conferences will
be available in the on-site Media Center.
